During CTE month in February Gouge Primary and Greenlee Primary competed in the CTE Career Poster Contest. Students were tasked with drawing the Career they aspire to pursue when they grow up. Career Exploration at a young age is very important in beginning the crucial conversations and exposure to all kinds of careers available to students in their future. Mitchell County CTE would like to congratulate the following students on their hard work and creativity on this contest. We are proud of you!

From all of us at the Office of Early Learning, we wish you a Happy Read Across America Week! We encourage educators to share the Digital Children's Reading Initiative (DCRI) Literacy at Home webpages and resources. DCRI Literacy at Home offers engaging activities organized by grade to support families as they work with children to develop skills in the foundational pillars of literacy: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and oral language. As children progress in these areas, their reading experience becomes more enjoyable and valuable.

Here is the breakfast and lunch menu for March.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year will be held Thursday, March 13 at Greenlee Primary and Gouge Primary. If you are unable to attend registration or have questions, please contact the school your child will be enrolling in next year. We can't wait to welcome the Class of 2038 to Mitchell County Schools!
