We are excited to announce the reopening of Mitchell County Schools on November 7th, following over a month-long closure due to Hurricane Helene. The severe weather brought challenges, but our community’s resilience and dedication to recovery have made it possible for us to safely welcome students and staff back to campus.
In the time since the storm, we have worked tirelessly to restore facilities, ensure safe transportation routes, and address any lasting impacts on our school community. We are grateful for the ongoing support from local agencies, volunteers, and our staff, who have all played a part in getting us back on track.
To help families plan for the months ahead, we have adjusted the school calendar to accommodate missed instructional days while preserving key dates and school breaks.
