Application Process for 8th grade students:

• Students must meet one of three criteria in order to apply during their 8th grade year:

  1. In need of an accelerated academic track

  2. First generation college student

  3. At risk of dropping out due to nonacademic reasons

• Complete the application and turn in to either the school guidance counselor or mail directly to Mayland Early College High School (see application below)

• Applicants will be graded using a rubric which assigns points based upon grades, attendance, test scores, teacher recommendations, written essay, and the interview.

Students who wish to apply after completing their 9th or 10th grade at their traditional high school will be discussed on an individual basis. Please see your school guidance counselor and speak with either Stacie Burleson(766-2590) or Maria Grindstaff (766-1283) for further information.
