Hello from Mayland Early College. Tomorrow college classes resume. If you cannot get to campus then you can work on the courses online. If you do not have access to the internet then please call your instructor and the college liaison to leave a message. High school will not resume until Mitchell County Schools deem it safe. Our building will be open this week if students want to come by and work on assignments but in no way is it required. Students in college classes have my permission to drop classes depending on the class expectations. Some instructors are waiving assignments, some are providing extensions, and some are requiring everything to be completed by Nov 12. Thus if you are in a stressful situation please email me so we can discuss your options. My primary concern is your physical and mental wellbeing. Hopefully we can get back on track soon. If you wish to participate in the Halloween event please email one of the teachers and fill out the Google form sent last week. Thank you and have a great week.

Next week, September 23-27, is School Bus Ridership Week across school districts in North Carolina. The funding that we get for transportation is dependent on the number of students who ride a school bus during this week. Even if your child rides the bus occasionally, we ask that they please ride at least one day next week.
